182 detail and headlight sand

Had a friends 182 in last week to give it a good deep clean and sort the headlights out.


Pretty scruffy before i started

Not too bad on the lights but yellow at the top

Onto the wash stages with the green foam

this was rinsed and then wheels and arches were cleaned followed by a hand wash with carpros iron x soap and rinsed.

Leaving a well cleansed car

Plenty of tar left though so tar remover then the clay cloth from carpro to remove anything left behind.

Headlights came out nicely.

It looks strange seeing a 182 without the cup packs though

Yes Autobrite cherry glaze topped with AF finale, repel on the glass and all season dressing on the tyres/ arches.

finale offers little if any protection meaning the glaze will be gone with the next wash meaning all the grime and dirt is going to start sticking to it again meaning another full wash and decon rather than a simple maintenance wash and top up.

get something to protect your work like a proper wax or sealant and save the finale for maintenance washes.

How did you find the CarPro cloth out of interest, Prestigechris ? Did it marr the paint?
