182 exhaust manifold and cat fitting to 172

hi

does anybody know how long the cat is supposed to be when fitting this set up to a 172?

is it the same over all size (manifold and cat) as the 172 set up or would it need

changeing?

i know the ends are different and a flange would need welding on.

im sure someone has fitted this to their 172 so any info would be much appreciated

(if by any chance someone has a knackerd 172 cat with a decent end pipe and flange

You would need something made to fit, or go onto ktecs website and I think they do a link pipe, I think a couple of people have cut and shut a 182 cat to fit in the gap, don't quote me though.

i don't want to fit a decat pipe i want to convert a 182 200 cell cat to fit the 172 exhaust system using a 182 4-2-1 manifold up front.

OK lets ask this a different way

can anybody tell me if a ph2 172 cat is the same size in length as a 182 cat from flange to clamp end (will be flange to flange on the 172 cat)

no, as said several times already, you'll need to have something made. It's not very hard though, if you can weld

i've moddified 182 stock cats to fit a 172 with 182 manifold, not too much of a job

Here you go.
I bought a 182 sports cat from here...i had a spare 172 manifold with a fake cat.
I had it cutted and used the flange with the 182 cat:
