If you knob is worn after a lot of handling.......
(I now pause for smutty comments)
...............................
Then it may end up like this
The 182 silver insert does wear, the plastic insert is not available seperate and the OEM replacement knob is £40+
The old knob will require hacking off too, but an easy route is to just replace the insert as these just pop out.
I did consider spraying and applying transfers which are available, but wan't sure if i could get a satisfactory finish.
I found something on the 'bay and took a chance that the insert would would fit
As I only requiring the insert I discarded the knob it self - it's not leather anyway, it ships from Bulgaria but only took a week to get to the UK
As expected these are not particularily good quality and I think it will wear quite quickly, but pleased that the insert pops out and it fits the existing knob fine, and as I handle mine gently! it should be OK until I save up for the OEM,
Not only but also, it appears to be the correct syle and finsh for the 182, so overall relatively pleased as it cost under £10.
