makes me laugh, the best exhaust for the clio is here, the BTB, but because many of you havent heard the name before, you think your magnex's and milteks are better!!

granted the miltek will have some thought put into it, but i doubt it will have the testing and R&D that the BTB has had. and price wise i wouldnt of thought it will be much different.

if you want the best, and you want a group buy, lets start talking!

it makes me laugh what is kept being said about what is the best exhaust.
ok BTB may have had a lot of money spent on R&D but what has it equated to probably 1 maybe 2 BHP, imo what matters to most people is the way it sounds and looks because unless you are a racing driver you are not going to notice the power gain.
company's like blueflame, magnex, scorpion probably have basic R&D to make the exhaust work and not loose power and they are affordable, but the likes of orbisound, BTB,the Angel works one have been designed for power for people on a unlimited budget, and milltek fit into the middle of the market, and the custom ones are just welded together with no research, just what the fitter thinks is best and what design the customer wants

Miltek is nothing special, and normally quiet. Lame!

My only experience of MilteK systems has been on an E46 M3 - again not that special! Boomed badly in the cabin at motorway speeds.

I like how -

A)You slate other products needlessly instead of just offering your honest opinion.
B)Your website doesn't work

I don't own a Clio yet but I am just waiting for the right late 172 to come up - chances are I fall into the 'unlimited budget' category as mentioned by one of the other users. I had a slight disagreement with BenR the other day - but he brought me round with clear and concise knowledge rather than bragging. I reckon you should be more open to discussion on other exhausts rather than just bashing stuff!

Regards
John

Wrongjon - i am not slatting other products, and happen to think there are many good products out there, which we dont sell. But like i have said, what makes me laugh is that people dismiss systems like the BTB as they havent heard the name.

I like research what is available, look into company back grounds etc. If people did this, they would know that BTB has a very succesful history, which reflects in every system they make.

As for the website, not all of it works, but some of it does. Its called work in progress.

Bartebk - systems are being made as we speak, there are 3 people with confirmed orders so far.

I guess i am maybe too interested in performance and quality, maybe i do bang on about the BTB too much, but i just dont like to see people buy inferior products, just because its a brand name or 'bigger' name.

^ well said mate. A lot of these well known names just knock out anything that fits the car and call it a performance exhaust because they use bigger bore tubing and its made out of stainless steel.

A mate of mine is on his 3rd magnex as it never fits right on his 182. You get what you pay for. The reason why some brands are more well know and considered better, is because they knock their systems out cheaper than the ones that actually do what theyre meant to.

There are different types of performance exhausts. What they should relate to in the main is that the performing life span is the main part that is dramatically increased and you get a little bit of extra power to boot.

Not, "you get 10 bhp more and lifetime guarantee." Any s/s exhaust will last forever as long as the correct grade is used. Also peak power only tells half the story, as if you get f**k all power and torque low down, that exhaust is only going to be useful on track.

yet everytime another exhaust is mentioned when people clearly know they've gone for a value for money system, you still feel the need to tell them the BTB at 3 times the price is better, no s**t sherlock... :rasp:

Im sure for most owners, that if the standard Renault exhaust (cat back) sounded better and had even slightly better tailpipes then we'd not even bother going aftermarket anyway, surely these are the main 2 reasons for replacing the OEM ? (or when it rusts and needs doing anyway and aftermarket prob cheaper)

At the end of the day you get what you pay for

I went for a Magnex because it seemed good value for money but it turned out to be c**p. I then went for a K-tec Stealth which I did have to fiddle with a fair bit to fit properly but is pretty good.

So if you'd gone for the B T B FIRST off you'd be quids in. Seems it could be a false economy going for a cheapo.

  Turbos.
Well, depends what you like and what you can afford. I think fmp's time is wasted on Clio owners tbh. I can understand owning a 182 would make him want to use it as an excuse to have a nice exhaust, but i'm sure he (and BTB) would sell far more if he targeted, say, new Golf GTI owners. The cars cost more, so presumably owners have more disposable income and being turbocharged more gains would be had.
