182 knock + abs lights, serv etc

Driving along in traffic in 1st, put foot on gas, take off and theres a knock or click from what seems to be the rear / drivers side of the car.

Anyone had similar.

Can someone also remind me what the prob is when all the ABS, Serv etc lights (3 in total come on) Ive had it 3 times in as many days.

Cheers.

Does it go off when you switch off the ignition and turn it back on again?

Its one of the common faults.

Interesting how loads of people have posted about this problem in the last few weeks. Mine had stopped doing this then all of a sudden after about a year off, its come back. Does it most days now too, usually near the start of a journey i find though.

Wondering if the ABS sensors are sensitive to the cold wet weather?

ok, the clunk when taking your foot off the accelerator at low speeds is not normal and can be cured as I had it from new on mine.

Took it to renault and the fixed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They adjusted the heat shield as it was positioned wrong, then they tightened an engine mount, and finally my exhaust was bowing in the middle which they rectified.

One of these things fixed the clunk, just not sure which one, but at least you know it can be cured and what they can try. I am guessing this is a common problem so they should have a tech note about it.

Good luck guys and get it sorted, so much nicer without it!

dav182 - yes I thought you might ;).

This is another one of those topics that keeps coming up again and again. I keep hoping it will go away when Renault fix this bl**dy problem .

Took mine in for the Knocking thay gave me a load of s**t and didnt fix it well not compleatly.... it does it less so its now harder to re-create the problem to another technician....... was gonna leave it till it goes in for the first service!!! it also does it sometimes when you turn the car on and off!!!!!

RE the Lights thing...... there is a little black box under the passenger seat.... wiggle this and hey presto!!! they go out... do you use you back seats alot? I find it normally happens when the P seat is pushed right forward before a journey?

any comments?

Heyup mate!
Well, the bloke who handed me the keys said that James (dont know if that meant you) had a look and just tightened a few bolts underneath, and to see if that cured it. That was it, and I left.

It is still doing it tho.

Yes, this was Lambs in Chesterfield. Bought my car there, and theyve generally been very good to me, so it will be going back in until its fixed. As dave182 said its a problem, not a feature.

My 182 had the 3 lights come on within 1/2 mile of picking up (motorpoint, not dealer). gf took it in at the weekend, and apparently its some ABS wiring behind the steering wheel? (assume that means position sensor on the wheel? - Im in the US for 4 more weeks, and just going on what shes told me!) Can anyone clarify a bit more?

Apparently a 4Hr fix, and has to go in a week Saturday - and theyre not going to have it ready till the monday. I really hope it isnt going to be used as a weekend runaround while its there, especially as it hasnt hit the magic 650 miles yet.. (probably paranoia I know, but Im sure everyone here worries a bit when handing over the keys to their favourite toy!)

Hopefully itll all work though - its certainly taken the shine off owning my first brand new car, thats for sure...
