182 manifold onto a 172 decat

  172 Cup SOLD
i've read a few topics before about a 182 manifold onto a 172 exhaust system, how easy is the work and is there anyone around the london area that would take care of it and what sort of price is it? Also if its fitted to a decat is it permanently fitted, i.e. welded or summin, so would it be a b**ch to change come MOT time?

sorry for all the questions, i'm just curious!

cheers

Eh....182 mani will NOT mate with a 172 decat. You'll need a link pipe to fill the gap.

It's not an easy job, but worth it's weight in gold.

Spk to fred.

all in??? erm budget aound about £700

Y'ish, see i did write 700 initially. But i've seen Mani's go for 220 twice now + 90 for decat =300+ish.

Labour....whilst it is a pain in the ass job will not be 400£ trust me.

ktec do a 182 manifold and sports cat for the 172's for 599 plus vat less our discount of course does not mention any further pipes needed would this go straight on then? see alot on money but actually looking tmepting now

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..
cost depends on what you have already, if you have a 172 decat, then you need a link pipe + 182 cat for cutting down (for mot time), 182 manifold costs £100-350 (depending if you get lucky), manifold fitting + modifications £2-300 + 'maybe' a remap, min £500ish, max £700ish or you could have a sports cat made at extra cost.

Got mine all done including the 182 mani, fitting, 182 cat (which couldnt be used) and welding of a cut down Janspeed decat all for £330

Helps when youve got mate's in the trade ;)

In theory its all pretty easy. Bolt the manifold up and weld a piece of pipe in from manifold to centre section. In practice its a bugger of a job fitting the manifold
