182 minus 2 wing mirrors

After a fantastic weekend at T in the Park, I got back to my car this morning to find out that some f**king @rsehole had kicked both mirrors clean off. There's no way it was an accident as they've ripped the wires out and there was no sign of them lying around on the floor

Why did they do it? Probably because I folded them in to stop them getting damaged in the first place.

There's nothing I can do about it now. The police were willing to check the car for prints, but even if they got anything it was the outside, so they'd just claim they leant against it.

I know, although that was my 10th in a row without a problem. It's just typical that it happens when my car is only 6 months old

It's cool, but thanks for the offer. I'm putting it through on my insurance, as the excess is only £100 and I've got protected NCB. (Plus I needed a courtesy car this week as I'm off on holiday)

The more I think about it, I reckon they've been stolen rather than just smashed off for the sake of it. There wasn't any broken glass, etc lying around, and there was very little damage to the mounting (although enough to need a whole new unit). Either way it's done now. No point in letting it get me down.

It looks like I should be getting my car back tomorrow with two new mirrors. Apart from the obvious things to check (like the electrics and external temp sensor), is there anything else I should look for before I'm happy they've fixed it correctly?
