182 Oil Level

  ClioSport 182

Has anyone managed to accurately measure the oil level with the dipstick in the 182? Firstly the dipstick position is pretty diffcult to get to, and secondly everytime I pull it out is has oil smeared/drops at points on the stick above the max mark. Is there some secret knack to pulling it out (fnar fnar ...) to get a good reading??

The on board computer tells me that the level is fine but I thought it worth checking manually too.

Knight, getting an accuratre reading on the oil level of a 182 is very much like making love to a beautifull women. First you have to caress the dip stick gently out of the engine then smooth it down with a nice rag and gently push it back in. This time make sure your withdrawl is even smmmmmmmmooooooooooothhhhhhher and you will get the reading you need.

Basically make love to it dont mailto:F@ck">F@ck it!

There is an electronic oil level gauge too...

When you turn the ignition on, before you start the engine, press the trip reset button on the dash and a series of marks will appear in the display, this is the oil level!
