Yeh, if you look on eBay you can get a special 182 resistor.

yeh if you look behind the engine there is a little dial...... get the engine fully warmed up and put your hand down the back under that exhaust manifold bit...
Or, in other words, no. The more time you spend driving it, the more you'll get used to the timings, and what gears you need to be in to keep the car in the powerband.
Not adjustable, without going to some new cams/ remaps etc.
it kicked in at 4500 on the old 172, but my 182 "cams" at 5000rpm which admittedly is a little too high.
