182 rolling road

  Arctic 182
just got home from noble motorsport in chesterfield a happy bunny. Expected around the 175'ish mark as ive always been told bhp deteriorates slightly over time. Its standard apart from my janspeed/KTR cat back and it ran 188bhp. What sort of thing could i do to push for the 200 mark ? decat and a remap ?

i'm afraid your prob going to get a lot of people start having a go at the rr used and the peak figure

in the nicest possible way unless your car has had some work done before you had it you won't have 188bhp, a decat/panel filter and remap will help peak and more importantly midrange drivability

on some other rr you car may well get quite different figures, rr are best used for live mapping and back to back tests. power runs are good fun and let you know nothing major is wrong. thats about it really. glad you had a good day though mate and at least you know the engine is fine, but prob not 188 bhp.

on CS most people think the rollers of truth belong to paul (rs tuning) or at matt's (TDF) if you get 188 there you got 'a gud un'

My mate had his trophy rolling roaded yesterday on fairly "accurate" RR at 178bhp. Thats with matched inlets, decat, exhaust and a live map. So ye maybe 188 is a bit optimistic mate but aslong as it drives well, does it really matter? :)

mine was 181.9 with map decat filter so mate how u get 188 hmmmm smell something guys ?

Good results there!! do you know the history of the car? could it have been fettled with?

As a rule clio 1*2's seem to gain bhp with age rather than loose them, ph1's that are on 100K go very well by all accounts as long as they are serviced accordingly.

When I was at rs tuning I think grays ran really high figures. Dunno what he had done but know it wasn't much. Mine ran 175.2bhp standard on the same day.

ye want a print out ;)
Ive got a printout sweetheart ;)

I understand what most of you are saying, the dyno probs was quite abit out. but its nice to know the engine is fine. i'll have to call in rs tuning sometime in the future and get a second run sorted.

As for wether or not its been modded in the past etc and been returned to standard, i dont know ? ive got the full history etc and theres no recipts saying it has.
