182 Running throttle bodies on standard management

  Black Gold Trophy
Is this possible? I've known it to cause problems in the past on other cars but I'm not sure how good the Renault ECU is. Can it be remapped to work with the individual throttle bodies?
Or do I need to go for something like an omex 600? If I do go for the omex, would it be difficult to pass emissions come MOT time?

Also I wanted to ask if the standard crank/rods etc are strong enough for the power the throttle bodies will give?
I don't really want to go down the cams and high compression pistons route as the car is my daily driver.

Thanks,
Jack

We talked with Paul for RStuning about ITBs on standard ECU, the problem is you would need to trailor the car to him and the wireing is different, i do believe he is working on it atm.

But a OMEX of aftermarket ECU is easy but the more expensive route.

We run ours on a standrad crank and rods at 202bhp (on RStunings RR) and its fine.

Find a frendly MOTer get a decent exhaust and Decat. I wouldnt run ITBs on my daily driver but they are real fun on the track :p

Why wouldnt u run ITB's on a daily used car??

Because i dont drive my road car hard enough to see the benefits i feel i would only ever use about 50% of the potential of ITBs on the road, i leave the hard driving till on track in the track car. for the miles i do on the road i couldnt have the noise all the time ect.

I have spoken to Paul about this too and he believes he could do it.

I'm still thinking about it!

Doesn't sound right, There's plenty being used on daily driven cars in a very reliable manner. The drive is so much nicer than the wanky FBW crap too. Yours is noisy because it's stripped out. They're no worse than a big exhaust on a standard car IMO

Yes but if i was to spend the money for ITBs (i have already) i would have to go the full way Decat exhaust ect to make the most of it. Personally i can not see the point in ITBs on the road (mainly throwing nearly 2k modifing a road car).

Full decat exhaust will only give u very very minimal gains even with bodies. I run a standard exhaust with mine and works absolutely fine. Im onlg goin to get 5 bhp ish with an exhaust added to it. sounds like one of those people that if they havent got it then they cant see the point of them!!!

LOL, but i do have a car with ITBs on so i able able to have a opinion on this. CS some times is a funny place.

I have a 172 ITB track car and a 182 standard road car, all im saying is my 182 is more than capable for what i need, and i can not see ME ever needing or wanting to have ITBS on the road.
Yes they are amazing on track and we use the car on the road as well.

But if i was to spend the money id want as much out of them as i could, therefore a fully stripped car ect.

Ok my mistake but can still see alot of reasons to have them on a road car.
