182 shocks - cup pack v cup blah blah blah...

Selling my shocks from a FF 182, someone wants to buy them but they have no cup packs... are they both the same or differ? If different, can the buyer use their own springs or will they need the cup packed ones? I have no idea if the shocks differ, had a quick search so please don't say I didn't :rasp:

bolt spacing is different from strut to hub between cup and non cup models isn't it?
