182 Standard Air Intake Hose Split.. best solutions?

Evening All,

I've realised the corrugated material cold air intake hose to the filter housing is split on my 04 182.

I've spotted a couple of them going on ebay in good condition for not a lot of money... but if I did get one I don't know how much of an awkward/expensive job it would in labour to get a garage to fit it for me? One end of it seems to just dissapear down below the headlight with no apparent easy access, so I'm just weighing up my options...

Should I get a hose off ebay.. is it easy to replace or will a garage end up charging me 2-3hours labour to fit it?

Should I just repair the existing one with Alligator tape?

Would take about 5mins to replace yourself. The bottom end of the pipe disconnects just below the passenger headlight area.
