182 - tapping noise at idle

Hi Guys,

Reno is vexing me up now! At idle after a short journey, my car makes a tapping noise. It comes from behind the dials. Its like something is tapping and its a constant noise. Reno said its the gases building up in the car and one of the service guys said it might be a characteristic.... Ill give him a characteristic!!

Have you had any problems with this? Ive done 11k. It started 2-3 months ago. Have you had any hints of tapping on your cars... any ideas? It doesnt sound well at all.

mine did that from about 13k.

is it intermittant? i found that it was. i didnt get it looked at as it didnt seem to much a problem.

sold the car at 16k havent heard anything bad from the buyer
