182 vs 172cup

Just to clear this one up before its closed for obvious reasons.

THe diffirence between the two is not really noticable to the adverage driver.....

Its probably something like 0.1 or 0.2 on a 0-60... however having driven the 72 CUP and I own a 182 I think the main diffirence is that the 182 is smoother and more consistant with its acceleration and feel or power.

having got a cup for a silly low price.. given the choice id definately go luxury.. though not having driven a normal 172 i dont know the handling difference. but i really want aircon atm. anyone know how easy it is to fit yourself..

i have a large understanding of electrics and interiors.. but i fall along was short on the engine side of things

Here are the independent figures from the back of Evo:

Cup. 0-60 = 6.5, 0-100 = 17.7, bhp/tonne = 171

182. 0-60 = 6.6, 0-100 = 17.5, bhp/tonne = 168

As far as I know those figures are 2 up and with a full tank of fuel. I think they do a number of runs in opposite directions to cancel out the wind and take the average of the best run in each direction.

Who knows what they do 1 up and with half a tank. Autocar timed the 182 to 60 in 6.3...
