182 won't go over 6500rpm!

Before I start and someone says something, I know the 1*2's have a hot and cold map. I never go over 4k until the engine is warm. Never the less, once it is upto temp it will not go over 6500rpm, it used to easily hit the 7200 it is supposed to go to. Any ideas of what it could be? Cheers

It looks like it's staying on the cold map(even though you can see the water temp is okay).

Could be the temperature sensor. Have a search on her for 'car staying on cold map' or similar and you will find your answer

Probably the thermostat, does it get up to temp properly?

id change the thermostat anyway as they are cheap and should be changed regular anyway, and then the temp sensor if its stil having the issue.

The map is changed by the water temp so if its reading wrong itl stay on the cold map

Might try this on mine, as it it sometimes hits limiter at 6.5krpm even when up to temp

Coolant temp sensor ,thermostat changed then a system flush and refil with type-d coolant..
