197 Centre Silencer.

Hi there,

I'm toying with the idea of removing the centre silencer of my 197 for a little extra volume ( awaiting "chav" comments )

However, I'm just weighing up the pro's and con's to performance loss with doing this? A friend of mine did this to his Vauxhall and said he suffered horrible flat spots and torque loss.

If anyone could steer me in the right direction that'd be great.

I had mine taken off last saturday, the flat spot between 2-3krpm was exacerbated but other than that I've not noticed any other deterioration in performance.

I absolutely love the noise from it now. Cruising at 30/70 etc theres not much difference, floor it and it just sounds incredible. Crackles and pops a lot aswell and pops on most gear changes.
