197 Flat Spot, Hesitation & Stalling

So I picked up my RS Clio 197 just over a week ago, the previous owner had fitted a K&N panel filter and also removed the silencer. I have increasingly noticed a flat spot between 1500 & 3000 RPM which has gradually got worse and worse, to the point I'm over cautious of pulling out of junctions! To follow on from this the car is now stalling in first and reverse without caning the revs. No warning lights on dash, plugged into a Sealey code reader (only a cheapo job for dealing with CEL's from decats) but nothing stored and all monitors ok. Maxed my budget buying the car so pretty screwed for the time being and not mechanically skilled whatsoever so help much appreciated!

the flatspot is being caused by the centre section delete, only way to get round it is too remap it. as for the stalling, i would have a look at the crank sensor first, remove give the tip and electrical connections a clean and refit, if it continues it may need a new sensor
