197 seats - supportive?

standard 197 seats. How supportive are they? Good for occasional trackday use?

Standard seats in my DCI are a bit "wallowy" when undertaking a spirited drive. A suitable upgrade?

Well, I hope they are, as I'm picking a full 197 interior up this weekend.

They are very supportive mate. A lot of people prefer them to the Recaros due to comfort and handling.

I've got the standard RS seats in my 197 mate, love them.

Feel like I could roll the car and still not move an inch, very comfy too.

Anyone else use seat covers for theirs? I'm aware the bolsters are susceptible to wear and was hoping of at least slowing down the process.

They are very supportive. Almost as much as the recaros.

covering the bolsters won't do anything. You have to hop over them

Seat covers do help Scott. I had a purpose made ones for my FRPs and they were epic, the hip bolsters wore through on the drivers side. I took it off for meets and pictures. Passenger one was always off as I never had many people in the passenger side and never dirty.

Seat covers do help Scott. I had a purpose made ones for my FRPs and they were epic, the hip bolsters wore through on the drivers side. I took it off for meets and pictures. Passenger one was always off as I never had many people in the passenger side and never dirty.

Oh? I would've thought that the wear is caused by the material wearing on the hard bit of the bolster under the foam, so putting another layer on would just stop you seeing the wear.

im not arguing by the way, that was just what I thought. Do they genuinely stop wear?

No hey work really well, your jeans scuff the cover not the trim. The layer is protective of course.

Ah, see on my old 1.4, the foam under the trim wore away leaving the trim to rub on the bolster. I thought that's how wear happened on all seats. Every day is a school day and all that.

A cover prevents continuous rubbing. It also helped me slide into the seat, protected the base against buttons aswell of course.
