197 wheel vs 172 wheel

Thought I'd put this up, surprised me. Expected the 197 wheel to be a fair bit smaller. Guess the 172's is a bus size wheel in a small car, whereas the 197 is actually a bus sized hatch;).

Well thats a dissapointment :(

My main issue with the 172 wheel is its size. Im 6'4" with long legs and my righ hand clips my thigh when turning. Was hopind a 197/200 wheel would solve this, but it looks almost the same size :(

It is slightly dished I think, so the wheel would be a bit closer to me, but probubly not enough. Looks like I will be getting an aftermarket wheel instead then :(.

Why, why, why did they make the steering wheel so big. I got in my brothers fiesta after driving my clio one day and it felt like a go-kart just from the steering wheel!#

A horrible horrible idea!

I still think the 197 wheel is a better choice due to its colour, shape and material. It feels alot nicer to hold compared to the 172 wheel and has the added bonus of not having rubber thumb grips to fall apart.

Its just a shame the 197 wheel sits so tight to the column and feels very heavy to use. Thats the only downside.
