Fair bit done since the last update a few pages back.
Finished the passenger door 'X' and made the drivers side too
Added an extra bar across the very rear of the cage, along the boot floor
Cut the old seat rails out (with fairly mixed results)
Outer skin plates for new seat rails
Welded in
New Vs Old
Added 5mm plate, drilled and tapped M8 for sidemounts
Sidemounts
Steering column mounts made and welded in
Also moved the key barrel to the passenger side out of the way
Straightened the column up slightly from standard but still at a slight angle
Picked up a 1.2 dashtop and cut that to suit
Mocked up with ph1 172 clocks
Some prep work to the engine bay and made a start inside
More of the cage
1x standard width, 1x wideboy GT width for the passenger seat
Passenger seat mount to do tomorrow then thats the fab work done. Will then be on with the paint prep.

Looking really good mate, paint prep is a right ball ache. Are you doing the sanding with some air tools?
Cut out the passenger side old seat rails and made another pair of rails and skin plates, then welded the lot in
You may have noticed I also added a couple of eyebolts to the rails. Centre one is for the 5th & 6th points of the harness, outer ones are for the lap belt where my new rails covered up the exisiting holes which I used before
So thats pretty much all the fab work done, thank f*ck!
I then pushed it round to the paint shop :clown:
