My water pump broke so I took it to Renault who also said that one of the accessory belts was also shagged. They are replacing them at enormous cost but a friend informs me that there is also a known issue with 16v engines.
On the back camshaft wheel there is a guide plate that can come loose and wreck the timing belt. Is this an issue with 1*2 engines or is this from earlier ones.
