2003 FF 172, whats it worth?

  Mazda 2, MX5 Mk2.5 Sport
I'm going to be putting my 172 up for sale once its MOT'd, just wondered what peoples opinions on the value are?

Here are the details:

1st registered in march 2003, one owner from new although I'm not the 1st on the log book.

Iceburg silver

totally standard other than Green Stuff front pads

23,000 miles (oil changed at least every 7000 miles) and I will get it serviced again before I sell

4 nearly new conti's

Front Disks and pads replaced at 16,000 miles

just fitted new ballast units and bulbs costing over £300

Overall condition is pretty good, there a couple of chips at the front and a couple of slight door creases thanks to inconsiderate tossers. Wheels are a bit scuffed but nothing major. Interior is almost mint, just the usual light scratches on leather were you get in and out and slight bubbling on the steering wheel but hardly noticable TBH.

I really don't want to sell it but I can't justify keeping it as I drive a company vehicle most of the time and the 172 is just sitting on the drive.

hmm, a minter wud go for £6500-£7000, so with the creases and dinks etc id be looking at 6k.

put it up for that and see where you go from there really.

Owing to the relase of the 197 the 182's have come down in price, and thats pushing FF172's down in price rapidly. Thankfully 172 Cups are holding thier value a tad better but still falling.

I was hoping for 6500 minimum really. I've been offered 6000 by a dealer. I know they have come down a lot (thats my main reason for selling) but surley its worth more than 6000, the creases are hardly noticable tbh I was just being as honest as possible about the condition.

ah fair enough then, i was thinking major dents, lol.

6500 shudnt be a prob then really. tbh push for 7000 and let them knock u down slightly, may come away with 6750 or so.

Its a buyers market tbh mate . There are loads for sale on autotrader at the moment . Stonechips and dents are pretty common but i'd look into getting a paintless dent removal company out and have them removed . Costs around £40 a panel , then stick it on autotrader for £7000 ono .

Selling it to a dealer you'll always get way way under the market value so it depends how desparate you are to sell .

If you check out autotraders website it'll give you a rough idea of what they are going for in your area and how many are available .

Not mega desperate to sell but the longer it sits on the drive the less it will be worth.

^^^ So stick in on autotraders website for £7000 ono , be prepared to be knocked down a couple of hundred quid . Get the dents sorted and if its a good un it should go . I got no interest for a week when i sold mine , then the phone never stopped ringing .

  '03 172, now a 2004 CTR
I have a 2003 FF 172, I bought it from Renault with FRSH etc etc, totally mint and paid £7k if that helps.

is it a good idea to get a 172 ff at the moment or shud people be looking for 182's? just that im looking to get a 182 soon and im not sure what to do i dotn want to lose to much after owning it a year? i know the 182s are coming down but do you think they will continue? im looking to pay 7500 for a 182 cheap i know but thts what i have seen them at ?!

  Not got a car
well mines been for sale for a few months, A1, showroom condition down to the last nut and bolt. Garaged since new, never really been taken out in the wet weather. 10k on the clock. Was up for 7k but eveyone just offered stupid money for id as low as 4k.

So im going to keep it.

  182 Full Fatt!
I paid £7400 for our '04 182FF with 48K on the clock. Mint, no marks on the body work, no scuffs on the alloys and perfect interior.

The '02 172 FF in silver we had went for £5500 privately, 48K, no scuffs or dings, mint alloys, only steering wheel rubber worn and slight nick in roof lining.

I would settle for the £6000 from the dealer IMO. Selling cars privately is painful! (Just sold 2!)

  Black Gold with cup packs
I know mileage does not mean much nowadays but I still cannot bring myself to buy a car with over the average mileage for the year

  Megane coupe 1.6 16v
I never relaised how cheap these RS clios were!!!

7k for a 2003 - 2004

A bloody dci 80 is about 5k for the same year and a decent spec.

Shame i am only looking at a clio for cheap motoring or id just get an RS :)
