I love my 205. Was a car I remember as a kid and always wanted growing up. One of few
cars I love the look of from all angles.

I think it looks a bit of a heap, probs ok for the money, but that's all.

yeah it doesn't look good but i think about 500 quid on it and you'd have a nice mint 205 that would fetch strong money if you wanted to buy/sell.

iirc all the slam panels were either black or a gray/white... not 100% on that.

my 205 xs which was my first car i paid 250 when i was 16... i've no idea why but 6 months later i bought an ax gt for 360

Slam panels were either cream or black.

Ph2's seem to suffer more with 'rot' but the majority of repairs required are easily sorted as access is good the majority of the time. The area I'd be most concerned about is above the tank where the brake lines run out of view.

The good thing to remember when viewing one is how easy it is to give one a good inspection. Pop the headlights out within seconds and have a good look at the headlight panels, the inner wings are easy to check over also while you're there. In to the back whip up the seat bases and see if the tank area is rotten and follow down to the corner of the door shut. The rear quarter seals are a common leak point. Ideally you'd whip the rear quarter card off and have a look in, but if you get on your knees and look to the corner of the tank you'll see if it's sound. Again - the majority of the common areas are childs play for someone fairly competent with a welder and some metal.

although i did miss the engine problem bit but i still think that this is a good buy, yes it looks scruffy but that isn't hard to sort out and wouldn't cost a great deal. They go for 2k+ in mint condition

Mint hit £4k easily.

It's got knocks, it's got dissolving Qtr to Sill joints, the Engine bay looks wrong (Air Filter missing!) and £5 says the rear beam will be shagged. Added the fact the engine has an issue.. ner.

Wrong Grill, wrong front indicators, Oil Filter head is not right. It'll be a ratty little unit that's £300-500 max. £1k is barmy.

It's had it's day that.

thats why i said 2k+

now that you've mentioned the rear beam i just had a closer look and yeah the rear beam does look shagged (driverside rear wheel seems to be sitting to far back) completely forgot how common the rear beam was!

time to agree that i've spotted a shed

They're great cars (I had 3) but they need a bit of money and time spent on them to get them right.

Just looking at the pictures again I can confirm that this one is a shed ! (Engine painted, no airbox, rust at lower b-pillar, seat bolster looks fcuked, 12 owners, clocked no doubt, steering wheel marked, dent in hatch etc )
