2nd Hello From Afghanistan

Car  LY 182 FF CUPPED
Subjects are getting more varied this week.....aside from the helicopters, `i actually got to meet some locals. For the Phots amongst you all, it is an amazing place if you can put the shootings and IED's to the back of your mind.
Light is a bit harsh between 10 am and 2pm.

another 2 months....and I am loving it.

Missing my Girlfriend dog and car...but the photography is awesome.

Amazing shots!!!

Whats the story about you being out there taking photos? Probably missed it somewhere on here about how/why your there.

Some of the best shots from there I have ever seen TBH.

I am a an Army ( Defence) Photographer attached to Media Operations with 19 Brigade.

We are a group of only 40 Photographers/Video cameramen in the world. I am usually based at Wilton in the UK with Headquarters Land Forces Media Ops group.

Our job is to document and record day to day life wherever the Army may be, this includes Operations,Adventure training, parades, sport, ...pretty much anything.

We also have a Combat Camera Team out here deployed straight to the frontline whenever needed, this obviously has its risks....but you get images that no press can get.

Our imagery, if used for news purposes is free to the press globally.....hence a lot of our images get into the news and newspapers - because it is FREE!!! and saves them having to send out camera operators.

All of the video you watch daily on BBC,ITN,SKY News is filmed by us and wired back daily.

My images are cropping up everywhere from the USA -Australia.

If you have not seen these videos then I suggest you watch them, as it gives an insight into what we are about.
Thanks for looking

Great shots again! I love the one with two tanks and in particular the helicopter taking off is awesome.. Can you get a photo of you carrying your gear? Id love to see how you carry it.

Excellent pics mate.

You're right about it being an awesome country. The locals i met were fantastic. Beautiful mountain scenery. Stunning with the snow on them and the sun coming up.

Massive talent you have there. Keep them coming.

Alex

Awesome! You are one brave man.

A lot of us wouldn't have the bottle to go to there with a gun, let alone with just a camera! lol..

Jesus there some amazing shots. The young lads eyes are pretty special. Bit like the "Afghan girl" from years ago.

Keep it up and keep em coming mate. Nice work.

dude am in awe!

you are seriously talented! looks like an amazing place to be despite being dangerous.

keep us updated and stay safe!

Epic pictures buddy, i would love to do this type of thing if it wasnt for the risk of being shot or blown up.

stay safe mate,
James

f**k me those pics are good, in would love to be doing what you are doing, literally everywhere you look must be picture worthy.

very jealous.

Hi Steve.
Another great set.
Never been in a war zone and don't plan on doing so. You are a brave man doing a brilliant job. The images you have sent back really capture the atmosphere there and some of the shots of the locals seems to sum up their dispair and gratitude that our guys, including you, are there to help and let the world know what it's like in a war torn country. Keep up the good work and keep yourself safe.

All the best.

Another great set Steve, have you edited these a bit? They have an almost graphic feel to some of them, works well. :)

Superb, really enjoy that you're posting these on here, such an interesting subject to photograph and such great quality pictures, keep up the good work and stay safe.

superb pirctures.

great talent you have, and incredibly brave to be out there. respect.

Good effort, those are some incredible images. It's not just down to subject matter either-the way you've shot them is awesome. Youve got some impressive talent there.

Stay safe fella! :approve:
