4Gb with 32bit Vista ?

i know it wont see it, but is their any point in having more than 3Gb, will it use part of it ?

got 2Gb in my pc at the mo and memory is cheap so was gonna put some more in

the crucial memory scan tool seems to recommend ddr2 6400 / 800, however it isnt seeing what i have in each slot, will have to open up and have a look

3.5 gb is all it will see

stick 64 bit on anyway

if you do go 64bit with 4GB memory, just make sure you have this patch installed otherwise your machine will blue screen all day long:

im all legal with this 32bit, how much is 64bit ?

just looked and ive got 4 slots, so must have 1Gb in each

2 x Hyundai DDR2 1Gb/64 @667Mhz

Vista 32 now does see all 4GB.

True, but mine is using 3581 which is enough for me, but I can understand what people are saying, they have paid for 4GB so want to be able to use 4gb!

You can use your key from the 32bit version on the 64bit version.


Your only paying for the license key.

That fix was included in Vista DVD's a long time ago. I got mine at the start of this year and it was already included. So unless you're unlucky and get a very old one there's nothing to worry about.
