54 reg scratches!

I cant believe it, had the car 3/4 months, and already i am scratching it. It aint just me tho, a cat loves the clio too!

They are fine scratches on various parts of the bodywork, mainly roof.

I noticed them the other day when polishing the car (thats whats brought on the bad weather, sorry!!)

As i was saying, i polished the car, but the white scratch marks are still there. THey aint deep, but they aint blue either (colour of my car), so obviosuly, its down to the primer.

How do i fix these?

i had the exact same thing!

i just put on some chip stick and polished over the top....

dunno about a proper fix tho

it depends how bad they are

i mean G3 and a mop if its down to the primer (pics to follow)

something like t cut is only good for scratches that are light and only go as far as the lacquer.

p.s dont waste your money on that argos polisher they are gash!

dont use normal t-cut on a metallic car

T-Cut colour fast is suitable for metallics, and so is T-Cut Metallic

always try the least abrasive polishes first

i can recommend Poorboys SSR 2.5(Super Swirl Remover), as sold on http://www.seriousperformance.co.ukwww.seriousperformance.co.uk

Ive said it many times before but the best way to stop a cat from sitting on your car is to pee round it and mark your terratory! Sounds like a piss take but thats how the cats do it!

If the swirl marks are not to deep you may get them out by hand with some elbow grease. If they are bad a machine finish is the only real option.

I have had success with Meguiars Speed Glaze and Scratch X in the past. But its worth Checking out the Poorboys swirl removers as they are meant to work by hand to.

Just re-read you post If they are down to the primer or even colour layer (general rule is if its deep enough to catch you nail in or is through the laquer on a 2 part finish) no amont of polishing will remove them you only option is paint and/ or laquer.

By polsihing you are leveling up the paint to the defect.

i moved my nail across it earlier, and i cant even feel a bump on most of the scratches, one just catches my nail, but only just if i move slow enough!

I will give it a go over the weekend.

Cheers guys
