6X9's on a headunit question

Hello, quick question!

I want a pair of 6x9's to replace the crappy rear speakers in the 182. I really don't want an amp/sub or any of that stuff so I am just going to disconnect the rear standard speakers and put some 6x9's in instead.

I am also going to buy a new car radio and it says 4x55w .

Does this mean I can only have a 6x9 that are below 55w each?

the head unit will be max power so you will have around 20wRMS

i'd recommend against connecting 6x9's to the head unit (6x9's have no place in audio imho)

you'd be better off just getting some mid bass in the oem positions

Ok, So you reckon I should replace the standard door speakers with some new ones? So do I have to get some door speakers that are 20wRMS each?

one of these under the passenger seat, unless you've got an alpine head unit, in which case, one of these behind the dash

Ultimately, I know you said you dont want it, but if you plonk a small sub in the boot (nothing chavvily huge or impractical) then if your HU allows you to filter out the bass to the OEM speakers, you'll find they're actually pretty decent
