Picked this up yesterday down in High Wycombe and drove down from Leeds.

Absolutely loved the drive back, my last car was a diesel PD130 Seat Ibiza sport which I'd modded a fair bit engine wise and got it running around 200bhp which was fun but I just wanted a car that handles amazing and I think I found it

Anyway, this was in the petrol station just where I picked it up from. Love the colour so much.

Lovely and shiny in my drive!

Then today I started to crack on with some jobs and seeing what I have to play with

She's in excellent condition bar a few things as shown later below but here is her now.

Please excuse the mess in the background, having our windows done haha

That's not a scuff on the rear bumper, scared myself for a second when looking at this pic haha

Now the bad parts, the headlights desperately need restoring

There is a scuff here.

And the wheels need a refurb so badly.

Anyway, I removed the throttle body and gave it a clean up as it was ever so slightly carboned up.

The emissions were high on the MOT, apparently its running rich at around 2000rpm but okay at idle?
so I wanted to have a look at some of the sensors to see if they were dirty and also to inspect the spark plugs to see their condition so started removing everything to get to it.

Spark plugs looked fairly new, along with the air filter.

Started to wire in my dash cam

I took a feed from the cigarette socket as it comes on with ignition.

Previous owner liked chocolate apparently.

I then fed the wire up along the B pillar

All in!

Need to sort the interior out and just ordered £40's worth of car detailing stuff including some more clay, iron and tar remover, wash and some pads and applicators so should be cleaning her up sometime next week inbetween graduate job interviews!!

Nope, just got it mainly for protection incase someone was to crash into me. Was going to do the odd track day with my old car and thought it would have come in handy.

Managed to get this on cam too, pulled the guy over and luckily he was pretty sound about giving me the money for a new windscreen but if he happened to be a dick and deny it i'd have this evidence against him. (sorry faboka you've probably seen this vid about a million times too

It was a bit of cowling in front of the wing mirror. The look on the guys face when he realised a part of his car was missing was priceless, he hadn't had the car long at all :rasp:.

The other day I removed the seats to clean under them. They weren't too bad but anyway...

The car has quite a lot of dust build up, a bit neglected from the previous owner.

Found a pound.

Peekaboo.

I then removed the acoustic valve for a little more noise at the top end

Then went for a drive and took a few snaps. Photography isn't really my thing... haha

More interior cleaning, look at that dirty knob

Need to clean these seatbelts properly, any ideas what will remove the crud?

Then all done and took some more snaps in the drive. Came out really well. I'm giving it a proper exterior detail tomorrow, just got some new goodies in

I used just standard Persil mate! Used a fair bit of it though as i'm not really sure on the ratios. Needed Mother dear for the guidance really haha. Then agitated them with a firm brush that I got from Asda next to the car section. The same brush in the car section was £3 and this one was £1. Was literally next to it too I should have taken a pic.

Today when it stopped raining I tackled the horribly faded and green headlights. I was going to buy a headlight restoration kit but thought i'd try something else after a few searches.

Started with wet and dry 1200, then 2000 then finally 2500 until the green had gone. Then machine polished them on the slowest setting with megs #105 until they started getting clearer. Then glazed with prima amigo and put two layers of Collinite #915

Really happy with the results, they're not absolutely brand new perfect as I didn't want to overdue the machine polishing with it being plastic and me being a total noob with a machine polisher.

Sprayed my upper grill black as before it looked like this - A kind of off grey which didn't match the fog surround or lower grill as shown.

I then went on to fitting the lambda sensor. Opted for a universal one, genuine bosch though. Was only £17!! Nice. Seems really decent quality. So removed my old one.

And crimped them together. Not really a fan of soldering as it gets brittle and cracks easily.

I did then tape them up nice and neatly afterwards

Okay so I plugged the lambda sensor in and fired up the Torque app on my phone to monitor the voltage levels. This was the old one.

Notice how the volts drop straight to zero on it's down cycle. This is baaaaaaad and should apparently read 0.1v for a working sensor. (should be between 0.1v - 0.8v)

Now this is after the new one is fitted. Now notice the graph reads a tasty 0.1v!

Yet to go for a spin to try it but seems to idle a lot lot better now.

Liking the new plates, it is slightly to the left haha, I did this with mine, but I grabbed a hair dryer warmed the glue pads up and restuck it on. I opted for 90mm rather than the 84mm. Is the font smaller than legal on yours? I requested to maintain the legal font size on mine.

I did take quite a few before and after pictures but they sadly got deleted from my camera. But i've done a few little niggly things that needed sorting.

First of all I wet sanded the rear number plate light as it was, like the headlights, all dull and faded. This is the best before pic I can get after them deleting...

I'm really unsure on the colour. Might play with photoshop tonight and see what it looks like.

Antharacite i've done on my cars before and it's a little overdone imo (I know the cup pack comes with anthracite) but I really like the contrast of the standard silver on blue paintwork.

Anyway, I attempted at sanding the wheels down but the paint is SO thick and the kerb marks are ridiculously deep into the paint that it would take me so long to do so the wheels are off and my Dad is going to take them to the sand blasters tomorrow to get them down to bare metal then i'll spray them myself.

Would sand blasting be too course of a finish?!

Small update.

Gave it another wash tonight and another layer of wax as I think I may have rushed the second coat the other day as it wasn't beading everywhere as much as I liked.

The pics make the bonnet look a bit dull but it's just hazing from the weather tonight

The other day I set out to adjust the exhaust a little bit. Due to the mounts being a bit deadafied it's not sitting them correctly. So with a cable tie or a few I pulled it to the middle a bit more!

The leather/alacantra seats are a tad bobbly! Classic problem apparently so I got my trusty bic safety razor and shaved it, it worked okay but I could really do with a proper de-bobbler machine
