7hr round trip = New Clio

Hopped on the train from Benfleet in Essex to travel to Bristol to view and eventually buy this Clio Cup from Scott. Decent chap is Scott and after half hour we did the deal and then made the 170 mile trip back to Essex.

Blatantly stole (i mean borrowed) some of these pics off Scotts account to show you the car, feels great to be back something more 'normal' compared to the white Clio! Heat, carpet, stereo!

The car will stay as it is, just changing some interior bits to freshen up, fit a std stereo back in so there's gonna be some questions coming up!

Std apart from K Tec coilovers, Prospeed exhaust, Xenons, anthracite bullets and Turinis.

The private plate is staying with Scott and going back on it's original 52 plate

It's nice to drive... being completely honest it does need a little tlc, i'm popping into Renault to order a few OE bits tomorrow

The brakes are MUCH better on the white Clio, less weight to stop and with the DS2500 pads the more you lean on them the better they feel. Completely different, in the white Clio it's noisy, i think the Polyflex bushes and solid top mounts pass the vibration through the shell, harsh road noise through the tyres.NO heating whatsoever so now it's winter the windows steam up. I went too far with it and should have plumbed in some kind of heating/fan system! Suspension is set stiffer.

The Cup seems responsive but feel the white Clio comes into its own after 4-5k, it really comes alive. I think i'll go back to 15s as i think the 16s have killed the white Clio's handling, everything.

Natural progression i feel, i got into Clio 172 ownership over 3 years ago with an Odyssey Blue phase 1 and felt lucky at the time to own it. Phase ones are a marmite look, as much as i like them i actually prefer the Mk2 Phs2 so it made sense to buy the Cup.

I know it doesn't have the half leather and auto bits on it but i prefer the colour of the Cup, the Turini's. This is my opinion but i prefer the Cup than any Mk2 Phs2 172. If i had sold the white Clio i'd have stretched to an RB 182 or black 182
