A bit of a naughty question

i have managed to lose the only key for my 1992 clio deisel. i dont suppose anyone knows of an easy way of getting into it without breaking windows and or locks? tried forcing the windows down but it didnt work.

Also is it true that i can take one of the barrels to a renault dealer and have them order/make me a key up as all the locks use the same key and i am very worried that i wont be able to open my fuel filler.

I realise that posting this info is a bit dangerous and could be seen as encouraging dirty tea leaves so pm me instead if you can help.

cheers

gutted for you mate, my mate locked his keys in his car, he pulled the door away from the frame at the top, which bent the door, got his keys back, then bent it back.
i dont suggest trying that!!

heh know how you're feelin mate i did the same thing yesterday http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=104968
i rang renault with the details off the logbook and they located the original keycode, got a blank key form them for £15, took the code to a decent keycutters and got it done for £5. its not a plip ket though, just a regular key,
look in stupid places, mine turned up on top of the bookshelf this afternoon:rolleyes:

i rang the rac last night, they said they can only do something if you lock your keys inside the car, if you lose them they give you a number to ring, for a company who charges you £125 with only a 50% chance of the key working the ignition aswell as the door

scott, when you say logbook do you mean the V5 document or the logbook from renault for the car. i was given the car cos it wasnt passing its M.O.T and it only came with one key. i dont think i have the renault book with all the details in it.

Its being kept at a mates stone yard about 60 miles from me and it was due to go for its mot but the keys went missing in his house. we tried looking tonight but no joy.

You reckon renault will be able to do the search for me from the numberplate and the chassis number? i hope so!

I locked the keys of a works van in the back of the van when I was staying in Brighton. It was a hire van Transit Connect and the RAC bloke came out and sorted it within 20 mins...it was scary just how easy it was to do!

yeah thats what i meant mate, the v5, gave them the reg and chassis number, and they requested that i went to the garage to prove ownership of the vehicle (which is understandable imo) then they gave me blank key and the original keycode for the blank to be cut, cost £15.
bear in mind this only works if the locks are original though.

just an extra thing, might have to try a few renault garages, my '94 was too old to be on some of the databases, however gordon lamb managed to find it.

just have to hope and pray that they are original locks then wont i! thanks a lot for that mate i really appreciate your help on that one. you have possibly just saved me a huge ballache in replacing a window ;) hehe! I should think that they are original as there was only one lock for the whole car... hope so!

Thanks again

i still got a break out kit from when i worked for GF
any breakdown service/recovery company will get in it for you. less than 60 secs on a reno LOL

1st experience with dealing with a renault parts department. What a set of f*cking remedials. Can f*cking believe it.The local dealer in wrexham says its gonna be next thursday cos he has to order it from france but if i lived near gordon lamb in chesterfield the guy there would be able to get me one "next day" so long as i can take my ownership papers. Tried to tell the bloke in wrexham wat gordon lamb can do and he basically implied i was lying and it was impossible. What an absolute Joke.

This happened to me at crail at the start of the year

However I had the keys in the ignition with the engine running!! Had to take out one of the back sie windowns then crawl in to a chorus of cheering people and others taking photos

Funny now but a b**ch at the time

If your replacment key doesn't work just get a complete lockset from a scrappy along with a window, breakin and just replace everything. Under 15mins to get the ignition barrel swapped over and the car running then about half an hour for each other lock. Cost about 20quid max and save you week.
