A/c Removal on a 2002 172 FF

Does anyone know what involved if i was to remove the Air conditioning from my 172FF ?

For all the times i use it... :D

Is it just a case of unbolting the Air Conditioning pump and getting a shorter aux belt ?

And removing all the pipework that goes into the car from the A/c Pump after de-pressurising the pipework through one of the schraeder valves ?

And then unplug all the electrical connectors and tape them up out the way ?

Or is there more to it than that as my car has climate control ? :S

And would i be able to just unbolt the pump and use a 172cup aux belt setup in replacement of the standard 172FF aux belt ?

Or do i need new pullys and tensioners etc ?

Your help is appreciated ?

I'm interested to know how AC complicates removal of the engine? want to do an easy cambelt and a 182 manifold in one hit and this seems like the best option!

You'd need to get it regassed afterwards and your not supposed to vent the refridgerant to atmosphere, other than that nothing really.

Lose the compressor, sort out a new aux belt, loose the consender and loose the piping in the engine bay. Thats about it, f**k knows why you'd do it to a FF though tbh, get a cup if you've got a stripped out feeling overcoming you.
