A Couple Hows To's needed!

Ok then there are a few problems/Issues i need to get sorted out with my Dynamique 2001, please can you have a read and try and answer the ones you can.

1. How do i stop the sunroof from creaking?
2.A cure to stop the parcel shelf from rattling, i have 6x9's in it i know was a bad idea but dles anyone know anything that i can to stop it from rattling?
3.Does anyone know the best way or a way to get water marks out the roof lining?
4.A cure to stop the sunroof from leaking when it rains very heavy when the car is parked facing down a slope?

Thanks alot Chris

1. You can't it's French, it will always rattle.
2. New Parcel shelf
3. Make up wipes, no idea why, but they work.
4. Sillicone in the gaps or masking tape.

1. You don't.
2. With 6x9s in a standard parcel shelf you won't again I don't think.
3. Pass
4. Probably a new sunroof seal/surround, depends where its leaking in.

mate i have the same problem with my 2002 dynam. Tbh the only suggestion i can make about the sunroof is to keep some bin liners or some towles in the back seat for when it rains, and I find that parking it on a slope makes it worse for leaking sunroof, so I'd suggest parking it on a flat level. Water marks, now a damp cloth or some upholstery cleaner might shift it, but if its a continual leak then i wouldnt bother if it was me.

clio ftw!!

sunroof rattle, i no of a mod which i do at work 99% of the time it works

6x9s rattleing away, all u need is 2 stick some felt on ur interior boot lid trim where it curves in the middle

spray some fabric cleaner all over the roof lining

remove sunroof frame and reseal with silicone

You can put some petrol pipe on one of the bars to the catch holds it tight and i've also seem a felt pad stuck onto a platform on the catch so it presses tight against the glass. The only trouble with those is they will only last for 6 months or so before they need doing again, less if you only the sunroof.

They're the two i've seen don't know if there are anymore.

This is a guide on how to cure a creaking or rattling sunroof. A VERY annoying problem on clio2's.

NOTE: This only applys to the tilt only non electric type sunroof

First, remove the sunroof glass by getting in the car and opening the sunroof to the first position. Then press the red tag in and release the glass from the roof downwards.

When loose, push the glass up through the roof, the hinges release when the glass is 90 degess to the roof of the car. When the glass is released, I find the best place to go is the boot of the car to work on it.

Next remove the little trims covering the hinge mouting bolts and tighten the 4 torx 20 screws which hold the hinges and handle on

These can work loose over time.

Next, grab a roughly 3" piece of 6mm fuel hose.

and slice it down the middle with a knife (your parents may have to help you with this!)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/shepperdspie/DSC00250.jpg

Then wrap the piece of hose over the cross piece on the handle like so....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/shepperdspie/DSC00251.jpg

And glue it back together....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/shepperdspie/DSC00252.jpg

When happy, put a generouse helping of muilti perpouse grease on the hinges.

Then rebuild in reverse order and enjoy a rattle free sunroof!

I dont accept responsibility if you feck anything up!

Tbh that should be put in the guides section... seems like an excellent solution to a problem loads of clios get

Thanks for everybodys help, the parcel shelf doesnt rattle no more got some double sided stciky tape and for pieces of felt. The watermarks went using baby wipes. Sunroof doesnt creak anymore thanks to Shepperdspie's guide (thanks again). And i think the sunroof wont leak again fingers crossed, when i took the sunroof off i cleaned all aroung the seal and the window and put silicone around the seal.

Thanks again :)

I keep hearing people putting silicone sealant around the sunroof seal but where actually do you apply it? I'm confused! Also does silicone vary much or is just standard stuff? Any pics of putting the sealant in?

Mine leaks and rattles thats all!

You have to keep changing the pipe every few months I found if you actually use the sunroof and the pipe gets crushed and stops holding it tight. Other than that it works pretty damn well, don't open the sunroof and it'll be fine for ages.

+1 to sheppardspie remedy to the rattling/creaking sunroof, I just used a hose from an old syphon filter that seems to make the sunroof get a tighter fit. It's an easy job I think. To stop my leak I simply clean all the seals and put rubber/silicone lube on the main seal (the one that the glass touches) to 'condition' the rubber. These forums are great!!!!!!!!
