A couple of Clio Cup pics from Donington on Monday

Had a track day at Donington on Monday and amongst other cars there were four Clio Cup cars there. Bloody fast and they clearly knew the track as they were taking everything in sight.

Took a couple of other pics, A Formula Renault, sticker on the back couldn't have been truer, and the Atom was a supercharged 300bhp version which I managed to get a few passenger laps in.

Yes it was Pete, the standard of driving though was the worst I've ever seen at a track day, 8 red flags in total and some proper penis's on track. Was a lad in a black corsa I got very easily alongside on the dunlop straight and he wouldn't let me drop in front of him. Ended up going into the run off area at the end of the lap but as it happened right in front of the marshall post he got black flagged and warned about it. Had a dry start, rained in the afternoon and the when it dried the track was proper greasy, had a couple of big moment when the front end washed out on me at Redgate and a moment up the ss's where I totally missed the kerb on the left and went straight over the grass to find the car just wouldn't turn left till I was about off the track the other side. I also had 7 cars spin directly before me, an MX5, a 207 GTI, a 205 GTI twice, a 350z a 106GTI and the Clio Cup race car. The MX5 stopped broadside coming out of the hairpin, luckily I saw his back end go as he has been a bit twitchy so was watching him as much as I was watching where I was going. All said and done I enjoyed myself and have a few bits to do to the car over winter and hopefully have it a bit faster and lighter (and a working suspension) for next years track days.
