I'm also looking to buy a new DSLR camera and it's a minefield! Nikon or Canon seem to be the hot favorites. Then there's which model. D40, D40X D50, D60, D70 D80 D200 or D300 and that's just the Nikon's. Then there are the lenses. I feel like my head is going to explode with all the research/reviews I keep doing!!! ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Im not keen on SLRs.... this is the cam ive got and I love it one hell of a good pic, s**t hot lense, shed loads of features and a BIG screen.

please understand you cannot produce SLR quality prints on a Point and shoot, however you cannot put a SLR in your back pocket. Neither would i be happy taking my SLR to any festival etc... They draw attention and are too big to use easily.

Different camera's, different uses.

Sony make fine Point and shoots and SLR's I use regually both.
