about to buy! what mods?

hey guys in the process of looking at get a ph2 172, would yas recommend any mods performance wise to help get the most out of it?
il be driving it day today with the odd bit of raking about! il prob have bout £400-550 to play wit !
and is there anything to look out for when i go to buy, rust prone areas or what not?

As for buying make sure all belt have been done/will be done before buying

Aux belt, tensioner and idler 36k and Cambelt 72k

I don't see the need for upgrade of brakes tbh. My standard ones do the job just fine.

If I had £400 to spend I think I would be looking for some eibach springs, &/or matched inlets, &/or exhaust &/or Turinis, &/or Cup Spoiler.

I'd put it towards a decent set of coilovers....

or new zorst re-map.

I'd wait and see if it needs anything. If it comes on shitty tyres first thing I'd be doing is getting near quality rubber on there.

Standard shocks are fine upto 60mm iirc then it's worth looking into replacement shocks or coilovers.
