ABS and SERV lights coming on.

I have these lights coming on and i get a spongey feeling in the brakes and the car doesn't stop as smoothly as i would like. It can be fine for ages going through town etc but stopping on bumpy roads or harsh braking makes the brakes make a clunking sound and the medal jump up and down a bit. The light will almost certainly come on when i reach 60 -70 on the way to work. Iv searched on here and most people say its to do with cv boot or the electrics ballsing up but i dont think mine is. has anybody had any problems like this before or does anybody know what is going on?

Does it judder when you're braking at a slowish speed? Check your ABS rings for cracks.

On the inside of the wheels at the end of the drive shaft I think it is.

edit: if your car isnt too low you should be able to stick your head under and have a look without jacking it up

Sounds like the problem im having to be honest. Need my tracking/ wheel alginment done so will have a look when its up on the ramps/ recessed ramp..whatever. Cant tuck my head under the 4 inch gap to have alook normally.

Probably a bit off topic and possible that you have already found the problem, but just for reference in relation to the post: I had the same problem with regard to the service light flashing on and off, no braking problems though, and turned out that the connection under the passenger seat was a lil faulty (one of renaults design slip ups), so taped it up nice and secure and the problem dissapeared

Oh wait a second, just recalled that it was the service light for the airbag that was flashing to be specific. So yeah a little off topic, but still sticks to the theme of flashing lights
