ABS fault please help?

About 70% of the time when I apply pressure to the brake pedal the brakes seem to lock up and I can feel (on the pedal) and hear a loud shudder. I have to ease a bit of pressure maybe once or twice to stop it when this happens. Worried since I'm more or less a novice. Any help would be kindly appreciated!

Needs replacing or could it be resolved?

Check them visually - your looking for broken , dirty , cracked / chipped teeth.
Try the good ole wire brush clean up and try .
