yeh pulling away is a problem, but it is in most cars really, the best thing is to pull away in 2nd gear, this should help reduce spin.
i do have to say i feel a bit safer with abs, but like i say you just have to be carefull and slow down, abs is of no use whatsoever in the snow, all that happens is that the abs kicks in you get massive vibration from the brakes and you slide all over the place, total waste of time i the snow (i my experience)
