ABS Sensor

  1.2 16v Dynamique
Hi All,

My clio failed its MOT on saturday with the ABS light being on, but then not going off.

Apparently this is being caused by the ABS sensor being loose (the little cog on the inside of the drivers side hub).

The guy showed me this and one end of the cog is loose, but he reckons I could have to change either the shaft or the whole hub?

They have quoted me £100 in parts and 2 hours labour, does this seem reasonable?

If not is this a job I could take on myself?

Cheers,

Dan

So i could be being shafted then.

Dont suppose you'd have a rough idea of the cost/effort in replacing the ring?

For the front yep you can get new rings. Just then lock them in place. You might be able to fix your old ones with some luck depends what its like.

Most place don't like doing it though as its a pain and can fail. the only perfect answers a new shaft plus many places don't know you cna buy seperate rings even many dealers.
