ABS vs non-ABS

  Clio 200 Black and White
The bloke I bought my Trophy from removed the ABS, apparently by fitting non-ABS rear discs.

I've just had some new discs delivered, which apparently have the integrated ABS sensor. Thing is, they don't look any different - what is the ABS sensor supposed to look like?

Why would you do that?? I heard that if it is not done properly the bias bocomes 50/50. Check to see if it is just the fuse that has been removed, if so replace asap!

I think the rear discs are the same ABS or not, the sensotr is on the rear suspension iirc.

ABS robs you of a bit of brake feel and ultimate control, some people prefer to remove it for track use.

K-tec sell discs with and without the abs sensors, so they must be in there somewhere, does anyone know what they look like so I can check I've got the right ones?

The discs don't have sensors , the discs have " abs rings " with teeth that the sensor picks up on . You can see the ring in the middle of this pic .

Yeah thats the ABS ring. Do make sure hes removed the abs properly and undone the rear brake bias adjuster.

If the previous owner thought he'd removed the abs by fitting non ringed discs id be very worried, it could make your car very dangerous. Have a look to see if the main abs fuse is there in the engine bay, removing this disables the abs but also disables the EBD making the car unstable when braking hard.

If the fuse was removed it would show up on the dash, and yes this very dangerous I know Iv'e driven a car thats had this done!!
