Active Subs... Yay or Nay??

any advice on these please guys. looking for a single 12'' ported! realy want somthing that give great bass at low volume as well as when i turn up the volume too. not sure about prices so all suggestions welcome!

I've got a Vibe one that is pretty good. Saves screwing more holes to mount an amp and Sub.

You can buy mine for £40 inc the wiring kit.

The Vibe 15" 500W RMS Active Sub is good, my mate has one in his civic, was better than my Vibe 12" 250/300W RMS Active Sub!
Edit: And also, for great bass at low volume the 15" beats any 10" or 12" Active Vibes!
Look on ebay, in the shops they are about £300-£400 new, hold ur horses on them and wait for one to pop up on ebay!

watch out for the vibe ones as they are made out to be more powerful than they actually are.

e.g they'll say it's a 500w rms sub but the amp bolted to the side is only 300w rms

i couldnt tell you if the one in mine is a active sub what is a active one ?

An active sub means that the amp is part of the ported box the subwoofer speaker is inclosed in. Saves space etc.
