Someone told me 888s aren't great in the wet? I think they did ok!

Back at Blyton today. I am really loving the Cup now, it's everything the 205 was and more. Hoping I can squeeze in one more trackday this year but it's looking unlikely now

Two pictures from Blyton last weekend, such a good track for a beginner, loads of run off and I can actually remember what the next corner is like!

I really want a new front bumper!

Booked Bedford for 14 November, so much for no more this year! And also trying to get over to the Ring in October, but the car will be on a trailer if I do.

Ages ago, I sold my Turini's because they looked like this with dead tyres
IMG_20140531_190320_zpsd3570d8c.jpg

They came back up for sale a few weeks back so I decided to buy them. Whilst removing the F1s, I also fitted a MAPs wheel stud kit as it was half the price of the PMS one

With the Turini's fitted.

Parts for the winter refresh are starting to arrive, car will come off the road following Bedford next month. Going to add more power but not sure how yet!

Looks good. I really do need to get my wheels sorted!

I'm also getting the power itch but not sure how to scratch it!

I've been torn between the forthcoming RS2, a ClioTurbo low boost and bodies.

Decided on bodies, as if I decide to sell them I should get back pretty much what I'm paying for them second hand.

Today was the second wet trackday I'd done with 888s fitted. On my way to Snet as it started to rain , I thought I was going to die after reading on the internet about them in the wet but all was fine. The weather this afternoon was on another level. The damp/drying track this morning was fun, but the empty track I had for 40 minutes was much more educational than any other trackday even if it didn't have the fun of having others around the car.

Here is my rather slow 4 minute wet lap, audio includes my comment "like a f**king puddle" as the car continually searches for grip so perhaps NSFW.

After 2 years with the standard Cup, this is the end of the car like this. It getting modified over winter and I can't wait to get back to Bedford in February. I realised I'd made the right decision for bodies & cams when @Martin. kindly took me in his. What a machine that car is, if mine ends up as half as good I'll be happy. I'd sold the B14s above, and had my 3rd set delivered from Germany yesterday! Tonight I've been looking at ASTs, perhaps the B14s will get sold again!

I took the car last weekend to Surrey Rolling Road to get a before mods power run, so I know where I am, the RR Print Out is below when I bought the car @Daniel said it went like a stabbed rat, I guess he was right!

Next stop is a trip to Diamond Motors on Tuesday so @MicKPM can give me a second key! Then it gets pulled apart.

Good to see you again buddy. Thanks for the kind words about mine, glad you enjoyed it. I certainly had a great day!

Will have a watch of your video today at some point. Is there any footage of the driver facing dash cam lol?

I watched some of my footage, and it was bloody slippery wasn't it. I had some serious sterling angles on that hairpin before the back straight.

I was hoping to do video in video but can only find expensive video editing software :(

This is from the morning sessions...

Height adjusters? Perhaps I missed those in the big box of packaging! I just fitted a shock and spring...

  172 Turbo
I was looking at the spring when I fitted it and thought it was a bad design as it was massive!

Put the car down and thought OMG it looks chavtastic!

Thanks @Daniel that looks more like it!
So job 1 with the rear shocks went wrong, job 2 was to fit the whiteline but I couldn't figure out the order of the nuts and having sat down tonight, the fitting kit isn't right.

Can't wait to start job 3 tomorrow, removing the front suspension & gearbox!

So on Wednesday, I fitted the Bilsteins without the height adjusters and couldn't figure out the Whiteline fitting kit. Turns out part of the fitting kit was missing which is why I couldn't do it.

On Thursday in the rain, I removed the rear suspension again and fitted the height adjusters, it now looks far better. I then started stripping the car down to remove the gearbox as it's going off for a Quaife and a rebuild, also to fit the front B14s and PMS Brace & top mounts.

With the front shocks off, I quickly realised that my strut tops have had the Renault mod to remove the knocking so couldn't fit the PMS kit :( So have reused my new Renault mounts with the B14s

Removing the gearbox took hours, even things like the dogbone that I fitted last winter, wouldn't budge! The gearbox mount took forever to remove, losing light on Thursday, I finally removed the rack bolt and thought I'd start on the subframe. With great joy, I found the passenger side captive nuts to be broken.

The longer the job took, the less I enjoyed it, I previously built a 205 GTi6 and the engine swap took less time than this!

Early start today and one of the subframe bolts was out quickly, but the front one behind the bumper, I couldn't get to. With time passing and me getting increasingly annoyed at the job. I phoned it in to a local specialist. "Is the car rolling?" he asked, "No but it will be soon was my reply, and in the next 75 minutes I rebuilt the Car minus the gearbox mount!

A £40 tow truck arrived and off it's gone to have the box removed by the local specialist! I've asked for a list of things that'll need doing soon so it should be back ready for 2016 :)

Annoyingly, the tow truck driver said to me "You doing Bedford on the 12th?" A question 3 others have asked this week!

Sorry to jack the thread sure Keith wont mind  whats your starting price on a quaife and gripper?
Last years prices were £1030 for the Quaife including them fitting the crownwheel and delivering it back.
Grippers were £1125 i my retaining your oe crownwheel, and includes the adapter plate + they welded it onto the plate, or £1525 for a gripper crownwheel and pinion.

They're delivered prices, and obviously I can fit them.

Where did you get your stud and nut kit from? I googled MAP's but couldn't get an answer.
Cheers
