Back in the game ?

2 new headlights, new wing, new steering rack and driveshaft and we’re away. Managed to get the ducts in bumper finished to.
Massive thanks to my mate Martin who helped me get it back on the road.

I’m currently in hospital after falling ill on drive home ?
The only issue was the fan relay stopped working, didn’t effect the dyno time or 10hr drive but did chuck a bit of coolant out when I stopped. Easy fix tho.

Anyway.... Chris at EFI was extremely helpful, nothing was to much trouble and he went out of his way to make sure I was happy with it.
I went in with the intention of making 350hp and around the same torque. Chris soon managed to convince me that it would be an absolutely useless gearbox killer on track and I’m so glad he did, yes it would be nice to say it’s 350 but in reality what he’s done is so much more usable.

It’s now 3D mapped through the boost solenoid and comes in absolutely perfect.
The best run was 333hp and 317lbft which it made at only 16.9psi

Hope you are ok? That is an impressive figure mate! Bet car feels awsome. How does it drive now compared to before it was mapped? Such a great build.

Cheers guys, yeah I’m ok. I don’t have an immune system and I got a sickness bug so I have to stay here for a few days.

Car drives awesome. On the standard map the lad used a boost controller at 1.4bar so as soon as you touched the throttle it tried to hit 1.4 bar and kill you ?.
Now it’s much more progressive, I’d imagine on track with decent tyres I’d be able to still come out of tight corners in second which would be a big bonus for me. Very pleased with how it drives ?

Are the hospital paying you to be there?! Nice seats!

Good news about the fix you did and good news on the numbers. I know everybody want big numbers but as we all know, it's more about how it'll drive and you want it to be useable.

If I got paid for every day I’ve been in hospital I’d be a rich man ?

Thank you. It drives lovely, hoping to get a track day sorted in the next few weeks.

New steel wheel nuts to replace the old ones, only bad thing about steel is the coating comes of with use and they rust.

Bought a new air filter for track use. Mr Policeman didn’t like it very much when he pulled me over earlier ?

Done my first track day as Turbo’d car today. Very rusty (shite) techniques, have to drive it a bit differently to before.
Had a couple of small issues, turbo to manifold studs came loose so I’m going to fit some locking tabs, other thing was boiling the brake fluid, it used to hit about 115ish down both the straights at Snetterton but now hits 140 so takes a lot of stopping, you can physically see where the pads have grabbed the disc and moved the disc metal.
Apart from that the car was amazing! Oil pressure and temperature were good, only going to 107degrees after a good few hard laps.
The AO50’s were equally as good, very impressed with these.
The speed of the car and the way it’s been mapped was outstanding, at one point we had a radical coming up behind us and we pulled a good 50 yards from it on the back straight, equally as impressive was the fact I could exit corners in 2nd if needed and still have fairly good traction.

Unfortunately the only video my camera recorded was this one, excuse the sound and the first couple of mins where the tyres are warming up.

Mate, that is absolutely awsome! One of the best build threads on here. Hats off to you ? would love to see this in the flesh at some point.

Cheers buddy! If I can get a trailer and tow car next year I’ll travel further afield so you get a chance to see it ?

Bought some inconel studs to hopefully stop the turbo to manifold coming loose ... feel a little bit violated at over £100 for 9 studs ? not looking forward to changing them either.

Bought some new pads to, these are the 1177 listed at the bottom of the graph, I might try some castrol SRF fluid to. If these don’t work I’ll prob go Brembo setup with the BYC cooling ducts.
