Admiral - Joke Renewal...

  RB 182 Cup
Well after being with them for a year, my renewal has come thro from Admiral.

I have a multi-car policy which was £520 for both the 172[with exhaust/filter mods declared] and the missus's Arosa. She had a total loss claim earlier in the year which took them months to settle.

My car is on 16yrs no claims bonus protected and the missus's 6 years protected.

Got the renewal thro this morning.......£ 830 for the pair. Mine alone was £ 520.

F*cking to5sers.

At the moment eSure are cheapest [£365] but the excesses are a bit steep.

Any good recommendations CS'ers????

I went through HIC.

Good customer service on the sales side, but I've been lucky enough not to claim yet so can't judge on that side of things...

i had same issues with elephant / same company as admiral!! at the start of this year i was hit up the back side (my new elise) causing approx 5k payout by the third party (he admitted liability) anyway all was sorted - and didnt cos them a penny! paid about 750 for the elise - renewal came thought with a new years no claimes bonus at 1200...rang them up to ask why couldnt really give me a valid reason.....so said you claimed sir! i said i didnt and it didnt cost you a thing...ooooh i dont know then (i was told)

in the end i got quoted 630 fully comp with chris knott (which if id kept the car would have save me about 500.00) it pays to shop around

now back to paying sensible rate with halifax 428 full comp ;)

then the muppets send me through a letter asking why i left! even though i spent about half hour asking the question what are the playing at..:(

They really are useless. They give you a decent price for your first year and then ar5e rape you every year after.

The all round experience of being with them for a year has been cr*p.

AVOID them [and elephant as paul says].

I had about 7 yrs consecutive with Direct Line and i never bothered to shop round at renewal time. Just last year I saved about 50 quid on each car. Now i'm back to the shopping about stage again which is a ball ache.:dapprove:

I'll give Adrian Flux a call again, I remember last year they were only about 20 quid more than admiral.

Was with Admiral, then got my renewal through a month ago, they wanted 1400, on a 10 month policy! Now with Greenlight, 797 for a 12 month policy, lol. :)

Elephant did the same with me and gave me a crap renewal quote. I phoned them up and said I didn't want to renew, at which point they asked me why so I told them they had given me a s**t renewal price which was totally uncompetitive. She then said she would see what she could do and a few minutes later had knocked a good chunk off the price. They still weren't the best though so I didn't renew. Then after my insurance had run out I tried doing a quote with them and it came out £300 cheaper than my original renewal quote and infact turned out to be the best of the lot so I went with them again.

Chances are the same thing would happen with admiral tbh as they are basically the same company.

  RB 200 Cup!
insurance companies are dickheads - end of really

always thought HU Direct were good but after a silly renewal on my 1.6 i went to endlsiegh who were much cheaper - but were underwritten by NU! So in theory NU couldnt beat there own quote - wtf?

Yer, i never stay with the same company come renewal time. Saved myself £500 by shopping around this year.

Its the same story with my Orange mobile phone, i get a better deal if i cancel my contract after a year and start as a new customer than if i stay. No customer loyalty at all, they are all just interested in new business.

who you with Owen for insurance? where in Cardiff you from - i've seen a RB 182 (no stripes) a few times around by the Birchgrove pub area (manor way)

I'm currently with Liverpool Victoria who are good (even with sorting out my claim very quickly and gave me a handsome payout too... £500 more than i paid for the car) but wont insure your modded car.

After much shopping about, and declaring modifications [non standard parts] to the car, which Admiral are pretty good with my cheapest quote was......

Admiral.

They took my missus of the 172 policy and managed to do it cheaper than last year
£ 322 all inclusive [£210xs] - was £ 530 before phone call
Missus' car came out at £ 267 [£110XS] - was £330 before phone call.

What can i say?

Most of the other prices were more than that with a £400XS!
I'll stick with them for another year then.
