Admiral Multicar - Another Convert

Just insured both cars with Admiral, after getting some quite frankly laughable prices this year from some of the specialists ...

M3 @ £700
Trophy @ £500

They kindly matched my 8 years no-claims that i have on the M3, to the Trophy. So Win Win there.

Rather amusingly, some people were pricing the Clio at only about 50 quid less than the M3 :S

Even the prices above surprised me, was expecting the Trophy to be more like 350-400 quid.

Been on Multicar for about 3/4 years now.

Every year do the ring round and every year Admiral are cheapest!

Can you separate again, so you and your dad can go alone and keep your own bonus?

It must have changed recently then cos everytime I've tried it before the quotes have never been much good, even went as far as putting 3 drivers and 5 cars on there but still didn't see any real 'discount'

You're fine with Admiral as long as your cars practically standard. They tend to take the piss slightly more than most with their admin fees occasionally as well. How do you mean matched Dave? Do you have the no claims on both cars?

Essentially, i started off with 8 yrs on the M3, 0 yrs on the Clio (its been on a classic policy for a couple of years, so didnt build up any NCB), then after a bit of discussion, i persuaded them to give me another 8 years no claims on the clio as well. So i now have two policies, with two lots of no claims bonus, under one overall multicar policy to get some extra discount.

I already have home/travel insurance with them as well, so perhaps that helped with my negotiations...

Being old has to have some benefits

^ I'm with admiral and they just seem to slap a 40-50 quid premium on every mod lol irrespective of type. Alloys 50, suspension 50, exhaust 50 oh... :(

Still cheapest for me time and time again though.

Jammy C-Unit, only explanation is you've got some mega suave phone voice!

I tried insuring the 172 with them, they stopped me half way through the modifications and said I don't think theres a lot we can do for you.."The lights are standard if that helps"

lol, yours is quite highly played with though!! Whereas i've got a rolling road printout that says i have less power than a standard car should have ... anyway, I work in financial sales, persuasion is my middle name ;)

Ive rang these today and i am disappointed.

they point blank refused to insure the astra van, surely there are loads of people like me who have vans / sheds as dailies and a weekend car?

It seemed daft they wouldn't even consider it IMO.

I'm a bit disappointed that my renewal was ridiculous and so was a new multicar quote. Worked out cheaper to do two individual quotes and price match those.
