ADVICE PLEASE!!! £2000 to spend on mods

  Honda ATR
Got around 2k to spend on mods!! Want to up the power of the motor what do you guys recommend for my budget? Will be able to do most of the work myself so labour cost dont really come into it....cheers :D

I would spend that on a good exhaust and coilovers (if you havent got them already or course!)
To get substantial power increases you have to spend some serious $$!

Thanks for the advice peeps. Got konig dampers with eibach springs, Magnex system with decat and put uprated EBC pads and tarox disks on. Was considering a set of GAZ coilovers....

cat back 2.5 inch exhaust, matched inlets, remove acoustic valve, panel filter of some sort (K&N/ITG), remap and depending on what the roads are like in your area choose a suitable suspension setup. Surrey is officially pothole central, so I went with eibach sportlines, you may be able to get away with coilovers.

Should be able to do all the above for way under your £2000 budget.

EDIT: Or put £2k towards a part exchange on a faster car, always the best way to go!

for £2k don't touch the engine, suspension, brakes, exhaust, learn how to drive - done

second that!

however if you really want more power individual throttle bodies (ITB's) with a stand alone ECU, doing the labour yourself with a second hand set of jenvey bodies should be in budget

when jord asked the guys a gdi at autosport about the supercharger, they said approx the 5-6k mark for it

that would have been for the aircon supercharger kit. the other kit that wont be to long now will be substantially less as the brackets are much simpler due to loosing the aircon compressor, so no shaft drive will be needed.

Suspension (H&R, AST, KW, Bilstein), Brakes, Seats. Spend the rest on track time.

OP, am assuming you have a 172/182?

If you really want to spend that much money, rather than putting it towards a different car (M3 ;)), then definitely put half towards the suspension and the rest (maybe not all of it) on engine modifications. The following are great bang-for-buck:

Panel Filter - £35
Exhaust and Decat (second hand) - £250-£300
Inlets - £150
Remap - £160.

Anything more (engine mods) will just be a waste.

sounds like you have spent a few quid already. Coilovers (H&R) could be the way to go, otherwise save it for the supercharger kit, not 100% sure on prices but i've heard £3k - £3.5k (never heard 6k before though)

You'll do well to hit 200 mate. Or on an engine dyno, probably 190.....
