Alarmin!!

My alarm keeps goin off for no aparant reason!! It started today at the RR day. Its just parked on the drive an goes off with nobody anywhere near it. the sensors are all pointin in the right direction. I havent changed the sensitivity or owt.

Any ideas??

are the windows all fully shut no small gap ?

....no cant find a gap an they didnt move when i tried to put them up. Bonnets fully closed same as boot!

Is it the standard alarm? If so I think it flashes a code on the LED by the gear lever after it has been triggered to tell you what sensor triggered it off.

If that doesnt tell you anything then try switching the ignition on/off twice and then locking it - you should hear 3 beeps to indicate that the ultrasonic sensors are switched off. If the alarm stops going off then there is a problem with the sensors - unless you have a fly or spider in the car setting them off.

remove the dash top to access the alarm units.the smaller box is for the ultrasonics,turn down there sensitivity by turning the screw in the minus mark direction.i am assuming its a renault fit alarm.

Mine kept goin off 4 no apparent reason last week, closed all the air vents inside the car n it stopped...........was the wind, lol

Happened on my cup. Faulty door sensor meant the central locking kept operating by itself. You could be driving along and the car would unlock and then lock itself over and over again.

I knew this was causing the alarm problem as the car was parked outside my mates on summer night and we could hear the locks open, see the interior light come on and then the alarm went off.
