Allen key snapped in strut top

Tried to put my sportlines on today and the allen key snapped in the strut top

Any ideas on how to get it out or get the strut off?

Mine did the same. Got a big buzz gun on the nut, that did it in a second

Yeah I almost did the same, popped up to my local garage and asked them nicely to buzz it off for me

No go with a magnet mate, it's well and truly stuck haha

is there any of the allen key sticking out or has it sheared clean off?

Clean sheared off and it's recessed into the hole about 2/3mm.

Tried to drill it out but it's too hard for the drill bit to cut into it.

Just turn it upside down once youve got it off using the buzz gun then!

tack weld something to it or just get a better drill bit

I'd imagine its turned a little when trying to loosen the nut and now its wedged tight? Very small chisel and gently tap it back round to release it. Failing that, £51 for a new damper. Or if youre lucky, the impact gun will remove and refit the nut with no issues.

Just leave it. I don't think I ever use that as a gun gets the top nut off so easily

I was changing my brakes and thought i might as well have a go while i was at it haha

get a center punch smack a dot in the center and go at it with a decent drill bit

snap another allen key off in the other side so they match then get it off with a gun in future
