Alloys refurbed . . .

My Clio seems to be in great overall condition since buying it last week, but the alloys are shocking! They look like they've been driven off road with NO tyres on, ridiculous!

Don't suppose anyone on here knows of anywhere (or anyone) in the North East of England that can get them looking sexy again? I don't want to attempt it myself as I don't have the proper gear and I don't want to start using rattle cans on them . . .

I got a quote for a set of 4 16" alloys from my local bodyshop and they quoted me happy at only £30 per wheel to get them looking decent. Only thing is, the guy is a jackass and I'd rather give my cash to someone else who deserves it.

To be honest, thats a decent price I know on average its about 50 - 60 a wheel. I have attempted mine myself its not looking bad at all get some metal filler and go really. Painting is a sinch just takes patience and a steady hand. You can just rub imperfections out with 1200 - 2000 grit wet and dry (only wet lol)

I need to find this out too, where are you in the north east? Apparently there's a decent place in southwick (Sunderland) that's good... But the guy who told me is a bellend so im not sure.

I would give it a go myself I think if I had a garage to do them in, but I don't really have the 'practical' space to give it a go. I've had my old Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo wheels done (also 16's) and they were £35 a wheel, but the place is closed now.

Just thought there might have been someone on here who could have done it . . . I'd rather keep it in the family and give someone on here the cash and know they're done properly . . . I've heard a few disaster stories in my time from some of these bodyshops who do a half ass'd job but still take your hard earned pennies!

Even if someone can recommend somewhere decent, I'd appreciate it!

I'm north of Sunderland, just through the tunnel . . .

This forum seems quite close knitt, so I was hoping there would be someone on here that would know of somewhere local to have them refurbed . . .

I know a place that done my brothers vxr wheels in any colour he wanted for £120 and they where spot on, its next to Costo in Dunston i will get you a telephone number for them tomorrow mate if you want?

I have had stuff done by bettablast before and they have always done a very good job.The place in Southwick (assuming im thinking of the same one) is really good but was pretty expensive last time I got a quote.There is a new-ish place in westerhope that is also meant to be good but I havn't seen anything they have done first hand and im not sure how expensive they are.

Maybe we could join forces and ask for a deal on both sets of wheels! Lol . . . instead of £30 a wheel, we could ask them to do them for £25 a wheel or whatever we can get off?

The worst they can do is tell us to p**s off! Haha.
